Here's a video of the fireworks from the top of the ferris wheel.
The only reasons I can find for going to the NC State Fair are:
1) Pictures. This is the best part for me. You get to see some pretty cool things that you can't see every day.
2) Food. Again, how many places can you buy barbecued chicken on a stick, a huge turkey leg, funnel cake, roasted corn on the cob, a $4 slice of pizza, and a foot long corn dog?
So, I take photos and eat at the fair. Enjoy the photos... I enjoyed the food. As always, give the photos a couple of clicks to see the larger view.
Freak Shows!
I like checking out the freak show stuff. It's funny how things have changed over the years, though, and how the world has become so "P.C." One of the carnies trying to get people to pay money to see the freak show actually said, "They are all alive, ladies and gentlemen. Freaks of nature... the most disgusting sights you will ever see. It's educational, ladies and gentlemen."
Yeah, it's an educational freak show.
Isn't he cute? And there's even more of him to love - thanks to his fifth leg.
Fireworks!
Brandy!
We went. I have only been to the state fair four times in my life. I never look forward to going, but I always have an interesting time when I go. This year, Brandy and I walked around in circles for a few hours and took pictures. This is what I saw...
Some of the games were busy all night. Others, like this one, were either in a bad location or just kinda lame.
You can't have a state fair without rides. Here are a couple of shots of the rides.
What fun would a fair be without the freak shows? I didn't actually look at any of them, but Brandy checked out the tiny woman. She said she needed to be on a treadmill instead of just sitting in the chair.
The merry-go-round is the first thing that comes to mind when most people think of a fair or carnival. So, I couldn't visit the fair without taking a shot or two. I don't know who the mother and son are in the bottom picture, but I appreciate them posing for me. =)
