I haven't posted in over a month, but I really haven't missed it. Maybe that isn't the best thing to type, but it's true. Oh well, my love-hate relationship with Vox (and blogs in general) will continue.
I had a couple of photos shoots on Wednesday. Here are some of the photos from my shoot with Melissa.
It has been quite a while since I updated Vox with any actual photography. I haven't had much time to shoot, so all of my updates have been camera phone shots. Back on April 1st, however, I did take a trip out to Topsail Island to snap a few shots. My friend Malia recently opened an art gallery/gift shop there and we decided I should hang a few pieces. Instead of using some older work, I decided to shoot new stuff. Here are the three that are now hanging at Galleria Tropicale:
We crawled out of bed too early Wednesday (1 pm is too early for us), and took a trip downtown to the NC Museum of History. Check out the sights below:
This was kind of cool. There was an exhibit of photographs by Alexander Rivera taken in the 50s and 60s during a time of civil unrest in the United States. It was interesting to see the double standard in place at the time, as well as the complete racism and intolerance. Some people used blacks to help further their own cause, while in most places segregation was still the norm.
I liked this. To the left are the golf bag, glove and a few balls used by Arnold Palmer during the 1973 Ryder Cup competition.
The reason this was especially cool for me is because my uncle attended Wake Forest University with Arnold Palmer back in the 60s. They were good friends at the time and have remained in contact over the years.
This was another display that I really liked. This is a uniform worn by Meadownlark Lemon of the Harlem Globetrotters.
This may not mean much to a lot of people, but as a kid growing up in the 70s, the Globetrotters ruled! From guest starring on Scooby Doo to their annual appearances on ABC's Wide World of Sports, they really were considered "good will ambassadors." They would occassionally entertain the U.S. troops by performing on aircraft carriers. Yes, basketball games on an aircraft carrier.
I haven't posted in a while, mainly because I haven't been taking many photos. I had a couple of shoots a couple of weeks ago, and I have been very busy editing those pics. So, nothing too new.
I did snap a few shots while I was in Sneads Ferry last week, though.
Here's Dad (and me) in the car at Wal-Mart.

This is my brother Ryan. He's in a band called Devilution. He thinks he's a rock star. Hi, Ryan!

We took a trip home to visit mom and dad over Labor Day weekend. Since we had some free time, we decided to go to Topsail Island and take some pictures. Here's Brandy with her new bathing suit.

There was a lunar eclipse early this morning, and Brandy and I were lucky enough to catch it. I actually didn't know there was going to be an eclipse. Earlier in the night I saw a headline on Yahoo! news that mentioned an eclipse, but I paid no attention to it. While driving down the road this morning, though, I noticed that the full moon didn't look quite so full. So, when we got home I broke out the camera and we ran around the apartment complex until we could get a decent view. Here are the pictures.
The first one was taken at 5:37 AM. The last one was taken at 5:44 AM. From the pictures, you can see how fast the Earth was eclipsing the moon.
